Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Psycho has been remade before (with Vince Vaughn nonetheless; it bombed so bad it apparently scared him into sticking with comedy) but now FilmNation and A Bigger Boat production companies think they have a fresh take: a teen version. The House at the End of the Street hopes to revitalize Psycho just like Distrubia modernized Hitchcock's Rear Window. The story has a teen girl (Jennifer Lawrence, pictured, from "The Bill Engvall Show" currently getting Oscar buzz in the R-rated Winter's Bone) and her mom (Elisabeth Shue from '80s movies Back to the Future and Adventures in Babysitting) moving to a new home in a new town. The girl is befriended by a neighbor boy (Max Thieriot from Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and Nancy Drew) and later learns he was the only survivor of a massacre that killed his entire family in a house down the street.
