People view the quality of movies on a spectrum from bad to good, but there is a noted phenomenon that occurs every now and again. There are cases of extremely bad films crossing from the "bad" margin to an area where all of the sudden audiences start enjoying the film in an unintended manner. These movies are described as so bad that it's actually good. In honor of new awesomely bad releases Battleship and Dark Shadows, here are the top six awesomely bad movies kids can see.

Battleship (2012)
Following in line of the rich history of board game movies like...uhhhh...Clue, Battleship certainly has a lot of expectations. Fortunately, it lived up to its fairly ridiculous plotline. Filled with plenty of absurd plot holes, over the top CGI, and a Wa-of-the-Worlds style of poor forethought and engineering on the aliens part; Battleship forgoes logic to instead make expensive set pieces blow up. Let this movie be a lesson to studios that board games don't make for good movies.

Every summer, Hollywood releases most of its kid and teen movies. This year sees three swinging-for-the-fences comic book movies, the return of some M.I.A. franchises, and the usual animated and comedic fair. It's going to be a busy summer, so here is a calendar of movies that pertain to you (click HERE for the entire summer calendar, designed for you to print out & post on your bulletin board or refrigerator).

MAY
May 4. The Avengers (PG-13): What started out as only geek dreams of having the multiple universes of their favorite heroes collide is now a reality. Will it meet expectations? Will it prevent angry fanboys from taking to the web to voice their anger? Will it create more spinoffs? All will be answered soon.
May 11. Dark Shadows (PG-13): Johnny Depp + vampires + Tim Burton = must see.
May 18. Battleship (PG-13): It's due or die time for Taylor Kitsch whose first two films have flopped hard. This film wins for dumbest movie idea by abandoning any reality originating from the board game into a Transformers meets Aliens movie. However, Rihanna's big screen debut and Kitsch's apparently allergy to shirts may be enough to lure ‘em in. . . and considering Transformers gets terrible reviews but we all go to see it anyway, perhaps Battleship won't sink after all.
May 25. Men in Black III (PG-13): Making its way back to the big screen for the first time in a decade, Will Smith reprises one of his most loved characters, Agent J. This time he must save his partner's life (who has continually tried to retire by this point) by going back in time.
