Written by Tara the Mom    Thursday, 02 September 2010 11:07

Dwayne Johnson likes to alternate action films with movies his kids can see. With Faster in the can and The Fast and the Furious 5 currently in production, the time has come to squeeze in a family film. Johnson (pictured answering tough questions from KPF's Sofia and Riley) signed to co-star with Josh Hutcherson in the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth. In Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Hutcherson's grandfather goes missing and circumstances force him to bring along his mother's boyfriend (Johnson). The story is based on the Jules Verne novel "The Mysterious Island."

Brendan Fraser, who played Hutcherson's uncle in the 3D original, is not returning for the second film.
